A Little About Me…

Thanks for being here. I wanted to share a little bit about myself and my mission and values.

My name is Dianne but I go by D and I live on the northern Oregon coast with my partner and 2 kiddos that are also artists and nature enthusiasts. They help me with different aspects of my art such as painting backgrounds, thrifting items with me, mixing paint, creating displays and giving constructive criticism.

I draw a lot of my inspiration from the amazing forests in the Pacific Northwest as well as the rivers and ocean. Mushroom season is what we really look forward to every year, not only to forage, but to photograph for references for my paintings.

Naturally, loving the earth and its beauty means I try to be as conscious as possible about the amount of waste I create with my small business. I reuse as much packaging as possible, thrift items, upcycle items, use compostable tape and clear sleeves for prints and minimize buying “new” plastic as much as possible. I’m not perfect but I am constantly looking at ways to be better.

As you can tell by looking at my art, music is my other love and inspiration.

I have been an artist since I was little, my mom was a graphic designer and harnessed my creativity and her mom, my abuela, is a painter in Colombia who also played a big part in sparking my creativity. Aside from high school art courses and other workshops I have taken, I have had no former training in art but I am always researching and learning new things as I go and that helps keep me motivated.

This art micro biz started during the pandemic when, like most of you, I was at home with a lot of free time. With the uncertainty of tomorrow, I told myself I had to at least try and go for my dreams and here I am 3 years later, doing things I never thought I could do. Thanks for supporting me in any way possible. It means the world to me.
